New Eurozine partner: Le Journal de Culture & Démocratie

Publishing in French, three times a year, Belgian journal Le Journal de Culture & Démocratie explores cultural phenomena and practices, determining if and how they nurture democracy. It especially focuses on places where equality and solidarity are jeopardized.

Through critical analyzes, interviews, first-hand accounts, and focus on artistic, community-based or citizen-based initiatives, each issue is explored by academics, artists, associations, cultural and social operators, activists, and others. At the same time, each issue introduces the work of an artist or a collective through a series of images complementing the texts.

Once a year, a special issue comes out with a focus on migration. By combining various points of view, it offers alternatives to the dominant narratives on migrations, identity, and cultural exchange.

The journal is edited by Baptiste De Reymaeker, Hélène Hiessler, Maryline Le Corre and Morgan Degrijse (pictured). We are looking forward to introducing Eurozine’s readers to content from Le Journal de Culture & Démocratie in the coming months!
