Sports and primarily football form a vital bond for much in postmodern society. While urgent social problems are relegated to the bench, football, politics and advertising have beautifully close relationship: politicians shove their way into the team cabins for nowhere else do the feelings of team spirit rise so high. Advertising builds on the language and connotations of the sportswolrd. In their essay, Chlada and Dembowski use analysis and satire to discuss new aspects of the sportification of our society, which they already elaborated in their book “Ball & Birne. Zur Kritik der herrschenden Fußballkultur”.
