is a historian, research director at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) (French National Centre for Scientific Research), and president of Mémorial France. His publications include ‘Le Goulag: Témoignages et archives’ (Bouquins, 2017), co-edited with Luba Jurgenson.
