is a Ukrainian novelist who writes in Russian. He is the author of numerous novels, and books for children. His work has been translated into more than 25 languages, including English, Japanese, French, Chinese, Swedish and Hebrew. He is the Vice President of the Ukrainian Centre of the International PEN Club.
