New Eurozine partner: Ny Tid (Norway)

The Norwegian monthly Ny Tid has joined the Eurozine network. Through an international and critical lens, Ny Tid examines global conflicts, migration, surveillance and environmental issues.

The publication’s culture section has a unique focus on distinguished documentary films and non-fiction books. The feature in the current issue on the filmmaker Valentin Thurn, and his best-known documentaries Taste the Waste (2010) and 10 Billion – What’s On Your Plate? (2015), is typical of this focus. A review of the first solo museum exhibition (at the Whitney in New York) by Laura Poitras, the director of the Edward Snowden documentary Citizenfour (2014), further attests to Ny Tid‘s international outlook.

Ny Tid‘s publishing tradition dates back to 1953 and the founding of the weekly Orientering under the Norwegian author and journalist Sigurd Evensmo (1912-1978). The publication assumed its current title in 1975 and continued to publish on a weekly basis up until 2015, when it was re-launched as a monthly by the current editor-in-chief and long-time Eurozine contributor Truls Lie.

Ny Tid‘s online presence includes a growing collection of video journalism and a lively Facebook page.
