Ulrich Beck

(b.1944) is professor of sociology at the university of Munich and at the London School of Economics. Among his books are Risikogesellschaft 1986 (in English: Risk Society 1992) and Freiheit oder Kapitalismus. Gesellschaft neu denken 2000 (together with Johannes Willms).
