is a socio-cultural anthropologist. She has published several papers on sexuality, gender, intersexual states, sex changes and gender assignment and is currently carrying out research about science and technology of the body on behalf of the Advanced Council of Scientific Research (CSIC: Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas).
