Jean-Luc Nancy

is a French philosopher. He is the author of works on many thinkers, including Le titre de la lettre [The Title of the Letter] (Éditions Galilée, 1973), a reading of the work of French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, written in collaboration with Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe, La remarque spéculative [The Speculative Remark] (Éditions Galilée, 1973) on G.W.F. Hegel, Le Discours de la syncope (Flammarion, 1976), L’Impératif catégorique (Flammarion, 1983) on Immanuel Kant, Ego sum (Flammarion, 1979) on René Descartes, Le Partage des voix (Galilée, 1982) on Martin Heidegger, and l’Autre portrait, (Galilée, 2014). Major influences include Martin Heidegger, Jacques Derrida, Georges Bataille, Maurice Blanchot and Friedrich Nietzsche.
