Nelly Bekus-Goncharova
is a Belarusian publicist and sociologist living in Warsaw, Poland. Author of numerous articles on Belarusian identity and politics, Soviet childhood, migration, gender, art, and photography.
She holds a PhD degree in sociology obtained at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Member of European Cultural Parliament.
In 2003, recipient of a Milena Jesenská Fellowship, jointly awarded by the Institute for Human Sciences (Vienna) and the European Cultural Foundation (Amsterdam). In 2004 and 2005 she was a writer in residence within the programme of the City of Asylum Foundation, Amsterdam.
