Povzetek Dialogov 3-4/2010


V uvodniku Boris Vezjak razkriva ceneno in zlagano retoriko, ki jo uporabljajo protagonisti Maribora – evropske kulturne prestolnice 2012. Med političnim govorjenjem v turbofolk slogu o eksploziji in špricanju kulture ter med izključevalno demagogijo režiserja Tomaža Pandurja v slogu "ali si za eksplozijo kulture, ki ti jo ponujam, ali pa si beden povprečnež" ni nobene razlike. Ravno ta vulgarna dominacija forme nad vsebino, proizvaja kulturno identiteto Maribora, ki pa je prav pomanjkanje identitete. "Korak proč od bede in povprečnosti je natankoma korak vanjo," zapiše Vezjak in ob tem opozori še na zavračanje distancirajočega se glasu. Nekateri lokalni medijski piarovci namreč vse, ki si drznejo dvomiti, že vnaprej stigmatizirajo kot tiste, ki bodo krivi za morebiten polom EPK, zmagovalci pa so seveda že določeni.

Evropskim kulturnim prestolnicam je namenjena tudi tema številke, v kateri so objavljeni predelani ali na novo napisani prispevki z lanskoletnega simpozija Umetnost, kultura, mesto, ki ga je v okviru Borštnikovega srečanja v Mariboru organiziralo Društvo gledaliških kritikov in teatrologov Slovenijie. Skupina strokovnjakov premišljuje o pojmu urbanizacije in njenem učinkovanju na kulturo in družbo. Izhodišče teme so med drugim vprašanja, ali so dosedanji projekti EPK po Evropi spodbujali razvoj urbanih identitet in ali so se preobrazili v trajnostne projekte? V uvodnem prispevku poznavalec evropskih kulturnih politik in strategij kulturnega razvoja Dragan Klaić iz svojih raziskovalnih ugotovitev in izkušenj pri pripravi kandidatur za EPK navrže nekaj tipičnih napak, kot je obsedenost županov z izgradnjo veličastnih kulturnih stavb ali pa dogajanje kot zaporedja poceni zabave in plitkih festivalov. Ob tem opozarja, da je program EPK v osnovi politične in ne kulturne vrste – ni nekaj, kar bi si želeli, potrebovali ali izmislili delujoči v kulturi, ampak se ga je domislila politika. Prav politika vztraja pri EPK in jo potrebuje bolj kot kultura sama. Bolj kot v zgrajeni infrastrukturi je mogoče pričakovati trajni učinek v spremenjeni miselnosti publike in v izgrajevanju kulturnih omrežij oz. mestne civilne družbe. Nevarne so velike razpoke med mladinsko kulturo in uveljavljeno kulturo osrednjega toka. Nemški teatrolog Thomas Irmer piše o novem tipu evropskih prestolnic oz. kandidatov za naziv, to so usihajoča mesta, ki so v procesu sprijaznjenja z deindustrializacijo in njenimi posledicami in ki se skušajo s projektom EPK vrniti v prostor Srednje Evrope, ki je bil v obdobju hladne vojne pozabljen in razdrobljen. Kot primer predstavi Lodž, ki je eden od poljskih kandidatov za leto 2016. Lodž je v industrijski dobi iz vasi zrasel v uspešno mesto, v katerem so sobivale štiri kulture: nemška, judovska, ruska in poljska. S padcem Vzhodnega bloka je mesto ostalo brezposelno, ljudje se izseljujejo. Od leta 2000 imajo v mestu uspešen mednarodni umetniški Festival štirih kultur, v okviru katerega so zapuščene tovarne uporabili za prireditve, eno od njih pa spremenili v velik kulturni center. Filozof Lev Kreft ugotavlja, da vedno več evropskih mest skuša postati prestolnic in veljati za celostno umetnino. Zato poskušajo s pomočjo kulture privabiti kapital, ki bi mestu dal nov zagon. Kam vse lahko vodi poroka med kulturo in kapitalom, ponazori s primeri treh mest: Ria de Janeira, Arnhema in Londona kot olimpijskega mesta 2012. Intermedijska umetnica Katarina Pejović opozarja, da se organizatorji EPK pogosto odločajo za investiranje v podobo in njeno razkazovanje namesto za raziskovanje in odkrivanje identitete. Avtorica predstavi projekt Re-collecting City / Re-Collecting Time, ki ga je leta 2006 začela skupina Shadow Casters (Bacači sjenki) iz Zagreba za ohranjanje kulturnega spomina na Zahodnem Balkanu. Arhitekt Miha Dešman s primerjavo nekaj evropskih mest, ki so bila kulturne prestolnice, pokaže, kako veliki dogodki vplivajo na urbanistično načrtovanje in razvoj mestne arhitekture. Raziskovalka Mojca Planšak skupaj s sodelavci, ki vsi prihajajo iz mariborske neodvisne kulture, razkriva EPK 2012 v Mariboru kot eno izmed pojavnih oblik, ki odsevajo sistem neoliberalnega kapitalizma. Likovna umetnica Alenka Pirman pa v svojem prispevku analizira nekaj napak kulturnega inženiringa.

Urednica za vizualne umetnosti Nataša Kovšca je pripravila pogovor s slovensko video umetnico in režiserko Natašo Prosenc, ki živi in ustvarja med Los Angelesom in Ljubljano. Leta 1999 je predstavljala Slovenijo na Beneškem bienalu, v zadnjih letih pa je posnela več kratkih in dokumentarnih filmov ter celovečerca Suvenir in Platonov Simpozij.

V literarnem delu je objavljen prevod kratke zgodbe Saga o Aladinu latvijske pisateljice Ilze Jansone. Kratko zgodbo Armade objavlja Miha Mazzini, odlomek iz romana Nataša Sukič, pesmi pa Tina Kozin.

V Kulturni diagnozi Tomaž Toporišič ocenjuje nekaj najnovejših plesnogledaliških predstav na Slovenskem. Novi filmski urednik Dialogov Matic Majcen piše o filmu Moon angleškega režiserja Duncana Jonesa, Katja Čičigoj pa o filmu Up in the air ameriškega režiserja Jasona Reitmana. V Fužinah, ljubljanski mestni četrti, ki je prvotno veljala za proletarsko, naseljeno s priseljenci iz nekdanje Jugoslavije, se dogajata dva izmed najbolj popularnih sodobnih slovenskih romanov: Fužinski bluz Andreja E. Skubica in Čefurji raus! Gorana Vojnovića. Maša Ogrizek s pomočjo odgovorov obeh pisateljev razmišlja o fenomenu mestne četrti v literaturi in filmu.
