Abstracts for Host 8/2009
The October issue of Host is largely dedicated to a specific link which exists between literature and photography, mainly on the practical level: it deals with the tradition of portraits taken of Czech writers. We start with an interview with the renowned photographer Dagmar Hochová who became famous for her pictures from the memorable congress of the Writers' Union in 1967. This is followed by an essay by Josef Moucha dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the invention of photography. Finally we have an extensive presentation of several authors who deal with photographic portraiture of today's Czech writers.
