Editorial "Springerin" 4/2007


Ein Jahr ist es her, dass an dieser Stelle schwerpunktmäßig von theoretischen Leitmotiven der documenta 12 die Rede war. Ein Jahr, dass Fragestellungen in Bezug auf Moderne, Subjektstatus und Bildung mitunter auch eklatante Verschiebungen erfahren haben. Seither sind hier zahlreiche Beiträge zum Zeitschriftenprojekt der documenta 12 erschienen, und es wurde umgekehrt der Austausch mit anderen daran beteiligten Publikationen gesucht.

An dieser Stelle soll eine Art vorläufige Bilanz dieser Mehrwegkommunikation und ein aktualisierter Querschnitt aus den weltweit verstreuten Magazinen präsentiert werden. "Journal Welt" geht dabei selbst spezifischen Motiven nach, so wie dies im offenen und verzweigten Pool des Magazinprojekts von Anfang an vorgesehen war. Die Frage des Publizierens etwa taucht in Bezug auf mehrere, nicht immer von Meinungsfreiheit gekennzeichnete Kontexte auf. So lässt der Abriss über Online-Medien in Südostasien (Keiko Sei) erkennen, welche Beiträge zu einem größer angelegten und länger währenden Demokratisierungsprozess kritische Kulturjournale insgesamt zu leisten imstande sind. Retrospektiv erschließt sich in dem Beitrag über die Magazinlandschaft in der Türkei (Süreyyya Evren), welche vielfältigen Stadien selbstorganisiertes Publizieren in den knapp zwanzig Jahren, in denen dort von "Gegenwartskunst" die Rede ist, durchlaufen hat.

Eine Art Submotiv, das sich konstant in unterschiedlichsten Zeitschriftenzusammenhängen findet, ohne eigens als solches hervorgehoben zu werden, betrifft die aktuelle Ausformung feministischer Praxisanbindung. Drei Schlaglichter auf diese global sehr ungleich und kontextsensitiv geführte Diskussion sind hier wiedergegeben: zunächst ein Debattenbeitrag zur Schleiermode in einem weitgehend muslimischen Land wie Indonesien (Nuraini Juliastuti), die mitnichten nur einem despotischen Islam geschuldet ist; eine soziografische Betrachtung zur Situation arbeitender Frauen in Nordkorea (Gwi-ok Kim), von wo selten genug detailgenaue Reportagen dieser Art zu vernehmen sind; und schließlich eine Medienanalyse der Darstellung "leidender Frauen" in Algerien (Ghania Mouffok), wo die Schwelle erreicht scheint, Frau endlich auch im Singular wahrzunehmen.

"Journal Welt" geht über die Bündelung solch verwandter, entlegenen Magazinen entstammender Motive noch hinaus. So verdeutlicht sich in der eingehenden Studie eines Kunstwerks im öffentlichen Raum der kamerunischen Stadt Douala (Christian Hanussek), welch subitle sozialen Bruchlinien sich mitunter an einer einzelnen Arbeit festmachen lassen. Gesellschaftliche Vielheit als nicht mehr einholbarer Komplex ist es schließlich auch, welcher als Herausforderung für eine zeitgemäße Kunstproduktion weiterhin maßgebliche Fragen aufwirft (Marco Scotini).

"Journal Welt" geht zuletzt ganz persönlichen Weltjournalen nach, sei es dem mittlerweile über fünf Dekaden umfassenden Archiv des Filmemachers Chris Marker, aus dem hier Auszüge präsentiert sind, oder dem Werk des im August dieses Jahres verstorbenen slowakischen Konzeptualisten Juliús Koller, an dessen singuläre künstlerische Weltsicht hier noch einmal eindringlich erinnert sei.
