Vsak zase in za svoje

Pisanje o nekaterih temah je nehvaležno, uredniški odbori ga odsvetujejo; ponujalo naj bi malo oprijemljivega za trden sklep, bilo preblizu rumenim vsebinam oziroma naj se o fenomenu, ki je v splošni praksi negiran kot nekaj irelevantnega, skoraj ne bi spodobilo govoriti. Kaj tako misterioznega drži nacijo skupaj? Točka bizarne homogenosti in konstanta, ob kateri ni smiselno modrovati preveč, se zdijo trdožive in raznovrstne incestuozne povezave v družbi. Če se nadalje omejimo na polje produkcije umetnosti: kaj se dogaja z umetnikom v času, ko je v vrednotenju fenomenov priimek in omrežje zvez bolj pomembna pritiklina od kvalitete umetnikovega dela? Je ob "demokratični" embalaži domet dela sploh še pomemben? Razmislek o generacijah v umetnosti je mogoče peljati naprej tudi s tega zornega kota.

Za preživetje lastnega biološkega debla je naravno poskrbeti, tega športa se vzdržijo redki, zato je odvisnost od botrov ob vstopu v beli svet splošno pravilo. Nasprotna drža se zdi v svojem anti-pragmatizmu utopična. Redki odstopijo od sledenja preverjenemu vzorcu in pustijo stvarem teči po drugi, manj lagodni poti. Človeška vrsta že iz starogrške mitologije pozna kontroverzno razmerje med očetovskim in sinovskim, odisejskim in telemahovskim principom, a kaj današnji telemah sploh stori brez posredovanja teh in onih odisejev? Situacija je znana in razširjena, Tone Partljič je v nedavnem televizijskem intervjuju ocenil procent ljudi, ki stavijo na tovrstne poti in metode, z 90. Nemogoče je preslišati premiso o incestuoznem bistvu umetniških krogov. Pomenski odtenek postane prepoznaven v kontekstu lagodnih teatrskih mehanizmov. Debate na to temo ni, ker je po eni strani samoumevna, po drugi nespremenljiva in po tretji nevidna. Čeprav ni v merilu primerljivo velikih dežel in v historičnem smislu najbrž nič kaj unikatna.

Izhodišče umetniške akcije Adopt an Artist (AAA) Jane Flego (letnik 1977) in Katarine Petrov (1974) sledi podobni misli: "da se umetnik na poti do uveljavitve srečuje z dejavniki, ki so onkraj njegovih kreativnih kompetenc in nanje neposredno nima vpliva." Prisoten, hkrati pa najbolj tabuiziran zunanji dejavnik v slovenskem umetniškem miljeju se zdi t. i. genski faktor. Umetnici zvedeta fokus na "neprestano tiho omenjano, a nikdar zares dokazano namigovanje, da umetniki, katerih genom potrjuje posredno ali neposredno povezanost z v preteklosti uveljavljenimi imeni, prosperirajo prej in lažje kot tisti z neposvečenim dednim materialom." Ob tem je dobro vedeti, da je pri omogočenju prodora likovnih ustvarjalcev v polje vidnosti ključno odprtje galerijskih prostorov za njihova dela. Strogo funkcionalni načrt AAA je tako zbrati umetnike, katerih družinski profil je brez 'rodovniških' atributov, in jih vključiti v svojevrsten posvojitveni program – kot potencialni 'krušni starš' pa je zanimiv le tisti, ki poprej dokaže, "da bi se prenos njegovega genskega faktorja na umetnika (preko posvojitve) obrestoval umetniku pri njegovi uveljavitvi".

Producent akcije je zavod No history Mareta Bulca, tistega Mareta Bulca, ki je svoj študij na AGRFT dokvalificiral s paralelnim samoizobraževalnim projektom No history/Know history! in z drugačnim samopozicioniranjem popolnil bele lise učnega načrta, ki naj bi jih vsebovala resnično sodobna gledališka akademija. V mehanizem produciranja umetnosti in umetnikov je vdrl s konceptualno subverzijo, ki sistema sicer ni načela (zato jo je sistem tudi dopustil), si je pa vzela svoj prostor. Jana in Katarina prav tako poudarjata, da gre analizi "malignosti in benignosti genskega faktorja" bolj kot za netenje radikalne družbene premene pri prosperiranju umetniške populacije za vzburkanje širše refleksije tabuizirane teme, ki jima ni dala miru. (Pri čemer projekt shaja brez vsakega piarovskega zaledja, zato vstopa njegova subverzivna nota v okolje po kapljah.)

AAA kot zgodba poti do uveljavitve vsekakor potrdi, da profesionalna incestuoznost kot fenomen ni nevidna. V radostnem družbenem kontekstu legitimne kompeticije in ne prosto razvidnih selekcij je princip izrazit. Pri čemer je mogoče na polju gledališke prakse razumeti pogoj za umestitev med kompatibilne v ekipi soustvarjalcev (ki ga AAA deloma poenostavi in omeji na genski faktor, po gledališčih pa je stvar umetniških vodij oz. vse bolj samih režiserjev) širše: kot pripadnost določenemu klanu in s tem določenemu tipu mišljenja. Govorimo lahko o posvojiteljstvu, ki v zameno vključuje nekakšen privzem in identifikacijo z začrtanim miselnim vzorcem. Ne gre za kakšno trdo ideološko indoktrinacijo, gre pa za mehki model formiranja kroga istomislečih, ki seveda lahko deluje tudi v sferi dirigiranja umetnosti.

AAA po svoje kaže, kaj Slovenci počnemo "sami s seboj" (prav to naj bi bilo po Dušanu Pirjevcu edino pomembno za prihodnost, ki se nam odpira). Vzorec 'vsak zase in za svoje' ni nov in je izrazit bližnjik razvitega kapitalizma, ki mu slovenski značaj bojda najbolj ustreza. Pri tem se nemara ni dobro preveč distancirati in hoditi na plano s Principi, saj se sami še prehitro ujamemo v isto igro.

Kakorkoli težko dostopen se že zdi teren tega uvodnika, pa vtis po branju pove, da je uvodničarjev vpogled ostal na kozmetični površini. Ena bistvenih značilnosti tudi tega fenomena pač je, da producira simptome lastnega simptoma.
