Slovenski kulturniki in oblast


Poslanstvo, kaj poslanstvo, že kar pravica do subvencioniranega ustvarjanja slovenskih umetnikov se je znašla v krizi. Javno je odrekana v skorajda inkvizicijski maniri. Sedla je na zatožno klop, kot pravi letošnji Prešernov lavreat Milan Dekleva. A je tja ni postavil Mićo Mrkaić, kot se je rado izgovarjalo, s svojo tezo, da je kultura vredna toliko, kolikor se umotvori umetnikov cenijo na trgu. Tja jo je postavila nova oblastna nomenklatura, česar se kar noče opaziti.

Apologija se je zgodila na predvečer praznika, na podelitvi Prešernovih nagrad v Cankarjevem domu. Težko breme zagovora je nase prevzel Dekleva, ko je zavzdihnil: "Poeziji in kulturi sodimo v imenu izgube kapitala, obtožena je zato, ker zanjo trošimo denar, ki si ga ni zaslužila in ji ne pripada. Trapasta obsodba, ni kaj!" Res je: dan pred tem smo traparijo prebirali v Delu kot mnenje istega, tedaj že bivšega nomenklaturnega ekonomista, češ da naj si slovenski umetniki izplačujejo Prešernove nagrade kar iz svojih prihrankov.

Nova oblast je svojo konservativistično ideologijo in slog vladanja cepila z neoliberalno ekonomsko politiko. V resni krizi pomanjkanja strokovnjakov se je oborožila s peščico nadebudnih mladih ekonomistov, ki v svoji akulturnosti ne poznajo drugega kot poezijo novcev. Brutalna Mrkaićeva teza o odvečnosti neiztržljive kulture je bila pričakovana. A Deklevin zagovor ni prepričal. Izzvenel je kot cenen pledoaje užaljenca in s tem kot racionalizacija prejete nagrade, tudi denarne. Ni težava v tem, da lavreat v svojem lamentiranju o potrebnosti kulture nima prav. A nima prav, ko lamentira. Nič ni narobe, če kultura ne daje otipljivih učinkov, ki bi jih merili z vatli in obračunavali z novci. Zavrniti Mrkaića ni bilo težko in to so storili mnogi, najprepričljiveje ekonomist Bogomir Kovač.

Trpkejše ostaja neko drugo spoznanje. Tisto namreč, po katerem je možnost inkvizicijske prakse za slovenske umetnike proizvedla kar ta scena sama. Ko je stari in novi predsednik Društva slovenskih pisateljev Vlado Žabot stopil na oder Zbora za republiko in jo pomagal ustoličevati, je bilo vse v redu. Slovenski pisatelji so simbolično izrekli pozdrav Janezu Janši, vsaj tisti iz kroga Nove revije. Drago Jančar zagotavlja, da je ta oblast naklonjena kulturi in navaja zanimive razloge. V njej da so sami kulturniki: premier je član slovenskega PEN-a, zunanji minister književnik, minister za kulturo zgodovinar ... Z oblastjo je torej vse v redu, le Mrkaiću je treba zašiti gobec. Kakšna napaka! Kot da za njim ne pridejo na vrsto še njegovi somišljeniki. Da je Jože P. Damijan tudi že odstopil? Ni težave, takih je za cel bataljon in vlada jih vneto čaka, da nas popeljejo v boljše, reformirane čase. Mar resnično kdo misli, da so ideje o kulturnem poslanstvu teh nomenklaturi všečnih neoliberalcev pri kom drugem kaj drugačne? In če niso, kaj bomo storili? Zahtevali izjemo zase!

Težava ni v novem ekonomskem abecedariju, kvečjemu v na ta način reagirajočem slovenskem umetniku. Kaj ga namreč zanima? Oženja človekovih in ustavnih pravic azilantom, Romom, izbrisanim in istospolnim za literate, tenkočutne in senzibilne duše, ikone slovenskega razumništva, ne obstajajo. Podrejanje medijskega in gospodarskega prostora tudi ne. Očitno nižanje demokratičnih standardov v vseh sferah je zanje, kot kaže molk, sprejemljivo. Da se to reflektira v njihovih delih? V umetniških izdelkih? Že mogoče. In da so brez moči? Ne moremo verjeti, ker še preveč pomnimo Žabotove besede na okrogli mizi nacionalke pred letom dni, ko je zapretil: če gremo literati na ulice, lahko zrušimo oblast!

Pa vendar, in tu vsa čast izjemam, slovenska kulturna srenja deluje po načelu (domnevne) globoke apolitičnosti. Podobna je mački, ki zamijavka le, ko ji kdo stopi na rep. Svet okoli nje začne obstajati, če kdo podvomi v upravičenost subvencije, ki si jo obeta. Z državnimi jaslicami je vse v redu, če daje denar za naše ustvarjanje. Tedaj smo z njo prijazni in jo pustimo pri miru. Ji dajemo prav. Če grozi drugače, potem slovenske umetnike malce popade jeza. A hudega ni. In četudi bi s takim zgornjim opisom preveč karikirano pretiravali, se s to držo dogaja še nekaj. Tiha disciplinizacija umetnikov namreč. S tem, ko se najbolj brutalno dvomi vanje, se jim jemlje identiteto in kredibilnost, nato si ju z lamentiranjem nekaj pridobijo nazaj. A pri tem ne opazijo, da se jim prostor svobode oži na soroden način, kot se za druge poklicne, cehovske, ekonomske ali politične skupine. Ker slovenski umetniki niso solidarni z drugimi, jim drugi vračajo z enakim. Praktično vsi pozivi proti "mrkaićiziaciji" pogledov na kulturo, ki so se vrstili, so se razgalili kot pogledi, uprizorjeni za oblast z besedami: pazite, da tega ne boste vzeli resno! Bili so bodisi apolitični bodisi kolaborantski. V smislu prvega so umetniki, večinoma literati, pokazali, da je meja njihove senzibilnosti enaka meji skrbi za njih same. Popolna politična apatija – vseeno mi je, kaj se greste, le za nas poskrbite! V smislu drugega so bili izrečeni s pozicije koketiranja z oblastjo, s sopoveljniškega odra. Nihče med njimi, ne med prvimi in ne med drugimi, ni neoliberalizma zapopadel kot sistemske želje, kar dejansko želi biti. Žalostno in groteskno bi bilo, če drži prva poza – pomislimo, da je kultura bila vedno slovenska blagovna znamka in sooblikovalka poti v nacionalno politično samostojnost. Je potemtakem verjetnejša teza o kolaboraciji? In če je, kdo bi potem lamentiranje vzel zares?

Še po nečem si bomo letošnjo 60. obletnico podelitev Prešernovih nagrad, če odštejemo na podlagi novega neoliberalnega sovražnika prebujeno identiteto, zapomnili. Po izgubljeni priložnosti namreč, da se Slovenci oddolžimo Gorazdu Kocijančiču za njegov eleganten prevod celotnega Platona v naš jezik. Natanko pred petdesetimi leti je to nagrado prejel Anton Sovre za prevod le treh dialogov Atenca. Veliko, a tudi veliko manj od 3200 strani Kocijančičevega podviga. Člani upravnega odbora Prešernovega sklada so gladko spregledali ta kolosalen dosežek. Drži, to je že druga zgodba.
