Modes of philosophizing

A round table debate

Should philosophy have something to say to non-philosophers? Should it be pursued only by those trained in philosophy? And should analytic philosophy reject continental philosophy or recognize it as another "mode of philosophizing"? [ more ]

The centre is everywhere

"Arche" looks warily at the Belarusian thaw; "Magyar Lettre" gets to the heart of the central European city; "Kulturos barai" criticizes the culture of groceries; "Fronesis" takes counsel on the "unhappy marriage" between feminism and the Left; "A Prior" looks at monuments that won't melt into air; "Revista Crítica" sees the political potential of bio-art; "Critique & Humanism" analyzes neophilia and neophobia; "Dialogi" lashes out at the Slovenian press; and "Glänta" is missing links.

The Eurozine Advisory Board plays an important role in guiding and advising the Eurozine editors. In its consultative function, the Advisory Board directs the attention of the Eurozine editorial staff -- the editorial office in Vienna and the Editorial Board -- to matters of importance in academia, publishing, and the cultural sector. The Advisory Board offers ideas for the content of the magazine, advises on editorial strategy, and facilitates contact between Eurozine and experts.

The members of the Advisory Board are publishers, editors, authors, academics, and public intellectuals. They are active in regions throughout Europe and worldwide, and bring with them extensive experience from a broad range of fields. Some members are editors of cultural journals already belonging to the Eurozine network; others act as external consultants.

The Advisory Board meets once a year at the European Meeting of Cultural Journals -- the annual Eurozine conference. The Eurozine Editorial Board and the staff of the Vienna office also sit in on this meeting. The significance of the Advisory Board meeting is enriched by the background of the conference, which is attended by over seventy editors and intellectuals from across Europe.
